Meadow Pipit, near Cam Houses, North Yorkshire 2 September 2010 The Wheatears on a low wall weren't obliging so I had to settle for this instead! |

Juvenile Dipper, River Wharfe near Kettlewell, North
Yorkshire 2 September 2010 I have been after a reasonable set of Dipper pics for sometime now, as it is one of my favourite birds - being one of the special birds of the Yorkshire Dales. This was such a confiding juvenile that I couldn't resist taking hundreds of shots in two sessions. No apologies for showing about 1% of them here! Click on most pics to enlarge. |

Juvenile Swallow, near Lindley Reservoir, West
Yorkshire 31 July 2010 Taken on a favourite walk above the reservoir on a sad, sad day for the Burch family. As one life ends, this young bird's starts... |

King Eider, Ythan Estuary, Aberdeenshire 6 June 2010 I was expecting this bird to be very distant but by luck the tide must have been just right, and it was close offshore. It allowed a close approach, and even swam closer! On the downside the light was rotten and it was raining lightly at the time. Can't have everything! Many more pics from this trip report are now available. Click pic to enlarge |

Eider, Ythan Estuary, Aberdeenshire 6 June 2010 One of many around the King Eider, to which I turned my attention briefly after taking hundreds of the speciality above! |

Red Grouse and Meadow Pipit, between Timble and Otley,
West Yorkshire. 3 April 2010 A distant shot, but it does show the feathered legs of the Grouse (just) and two birds typical of the Yorkshire Moors together. So I decided it was just about worth posting. |
