Greenshank

Greenshanks are one of my favourite waders but are very wary and getting close to them is very difficult, especially in Oxon which lacks many hides suitable for photography. In the summer of 2011 the water levels at my local patch site of Shellingford Pit were quite low. I was quite pleased to be able to exploit the extra accessibility and cover presented by these conditions is to get close enough to this bird for this reasonably sharp pic.
