Oxon Bird Pics Winter 2007/8

Rock Pipit, Farmoor, Oxon

29 March 2008

Taken after quite a 'stalk' up & down the causeway!

Blue Tit, Lower Whitley Wood, Farmoor, Oxon

29 March 2008

Again no Nuthatches, so settled for this.

Marsh Tit, Lower Whitley Wood, Farmoor

Marsh Tit, Lower Whitley Wood, Farmoor, Oxon

21 March 2008

Taken while on a long & fruitless wait for a Nuthatch! The very strong NW wind today, blasting through this wood, did not make for comfortable conditions.

Mute Swan, Buscot Lake, Oxon

15 March 2008

It seems to have been difficult to get good pics recently and so even tame common birds start to seem worthwhile targets!

Marsh Tit, Farmoor

9 February 2008

On a very quiet day around the reservoir, the feeders provided some photographic compensation on a brilliant sunny day.

Robin, Farmoor, Oxon

9 February 2008

Coming to the feeders in the wood on the south side of the reservoir (near Lower Whitley Farm).

Red Kite, Withymead, nr Goring, Oxon

2 February 2008

Probably my best Kite pic to date..

Water Rail, Shrike Meadow, Farmoor Reservoir

5 January 2008

Showed very briefly out in the open from the hide.

Kingfisher, Shrike Meadow, Farmoor Reservoir

1 December 2007

Unfortunately part of this bird's head was in shade, even though all around it was in sun!

Pintail, Farmoor Reservoir

1 December 2007

Ho hum. Back in good old Oxfordshire...

This bird was surprisingly tame, by the causeway, but it was difficult to get good pics in the wind.
